I am unsure of the appeal of the collection for various reasons, but it does represent a significant musical period for me. For a great deal of time the majority of my musical output was in midi format, which I created with the classic shareware program midigraphy. This continued basically until Mac OS X rendered the software obsolete, which coincided with a lackluster period of my life. My interest in creating music is slowly, but surely, returning and I will have some new creations up shortly as well. I thought this would be a nice place to start.

These tracks are from rather early in my musical output. They would probably be considered juvenilia since these all originated between 10th and 12th grade (1997-2000 to be specific). The process of getting these midi files on CD was actually rather lengthy, as it involved recording the midis from the computer onto cassette, and then through my school's studio equipment onto a CD. As a result these midis represent what midi sounded like in the 1999-2000 range and have the added bonus of the quiet hint of tape hiss (woohoo!). Melody 6 even includes a tape warp, which I left in at the time because I found the sound interesting. All of these qualities, plus the dated format may have charm or nostalgia for some and may be frustrating for others, but I am still proud of the music overall.

One last note: The cover says Disc 2 because this CD was originally to be part of a trilogy. For better or for worse this was the only one completed. I thought about editing the cover image, but decided I should retain all of the awkwardness of the original work.
